Painted Crow creates their artwork from a small studio based on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Somerset.
Our business name was chosen to commemorate a Crow fledgling that regularly visited our garden a number of years ago. His lighter feathers down each side looked like they had been painted, so he fondly became known as The Painted Crow. For some reason he didn't quite reach a year old so was buried in our garden where he spent so much of his time.
A Painted Crow feather hangs in our studio in honour of his short life.
There are several cheeky resident Crows that frequent our garden and they often leave us feather gifts which are regularly used in the creation of our prints and textiles.
